upgrade_required

HTTP status: 403

What the API sends

{"error":"upgrade_required","reason":"<reason>","message":"<message>"}

The reason field says why.

reason: no_plan

{"error":"upgrade_required","reason":"no_plan","message":"This account has no plan yet. Choose a plan at https://api.astris.run/console/billing, then try again."}

The account has no plan, and the request would create or run something: an app, a database, a deploy, a domain or a bucket.

What to do: choose a plan on the Billing page of the Console, then send the request again.

reason: pool_exceeded

{"error":"upgrade_required","reason":"pool_exceeded","message":"RAM does not fit this pool. Change your plan at https://api.astris.run/console/billing. To get more room, move to Growth: open the Billing page, ask your coding agent to start a checkout for Growth, or run astris billing checkout --plan growth."}

A new app or database does not fit in the plan's pool. The message names what does not fit (RAM, CPU, disk, or more than one of them) and the next plan up. On the largest plan, the message ends You are on the largest plan we sell now. To ask for more room, write to support@astris.run.

What to do: change your plan, or remove an app or a database you no longer need. See Usage.

reason: unknown_plan or invalid_number

The messages are This plan is unknown. and A number in this request is not a whole number of zero or more. Both point to a fault on the Astris side. Write to support@astris.run.

What your tools show

The Astris CLI and the Astris MCP show the message.
