## What the API sends

The response also carries the header `www-authenticate: Bearer realm="astris"`.

## When it happens

The request has no key, or a key that Astris does not know, or a key that was revoked.

## What to do

Create a new key on the API keys page of the Console and put it in your coding tool or in `ASTRIS_API_KEY`. See [Keys](/docs/keys).

## What your tools show

- The Astris CLI: `This key was refused. Put a current Astris API key in the environment and try again.`
- The Astris MCP: `This key was refused. Put a current Astris API key in the MCP client config and try again.`
