# rate_limited

HTTP status: 429

## What the API sends

```
{"error":"rate_limited"}
```

The `retry-after` header gives the wait before the next try. A checkout that was started too many times adds a message:

```
{"error":"rate_limited","message":"Too many checkout attempts, so try again later."}
```

## When it happens

Too many requests came from one key, one address or one account in a short time, or a deploy hook or a domain check was called too often.

## What to do

Wait for the time the `retry-after` header gives, then send the request again.

## What your tools show

The Astris CLI and the Astris MCP name the wait from the header. Without it, they show `This account asked for too many changes in a short time. Wait a little, then try again.`
