# invalid_dump

## What the API sends

## When it happens

The file is not a gzip of a `pg_dump` custom archive, or its size or checksum differs from the ones sent with the upload.

## What to do

Make the dump with `pg_dump --format=custom`, gzip it, and upload it again with its exact size and SHA-256. See [Databases](/docs/databases#restore-from-a-dump).
